Comparison of characteristics between 1. magnetic powder cores and ferrite:

MPP cores: use ampereturns < 200, 50Hz~1kHz, e:125 ~ 500; 1 ~ 10kHz; e:125 - 200; 100kHz >: e:10 ~ 125

HF cores: use ampereturns < 500, can be used in large power supply, in a large magnetic field is not easy to be saturated, can guarantee the minimum inductance DC drift, e:20 ~ 125

Iron core: using ampere >800, in high magnetic field is not saturated, can guarantee the stability of the best value of AC / DC inductance. The frequency characteristic is stable within 200kHz, but the high frequency loss is large, which is suitable for use under 10kHz.

Comparison of characteristics of 3. silicon steel, permalloy and amorphous alloy:

Silicon steel and FeSiAl material have high saturation magnetic induction value Bs, but their effective permeability value is low, especially in high frequency range;

Permalloy has coercive force and loss of high initial permeability, low coercivity, stable magnetic performance, but the Bs is not high enough, the frequency is more than 20kHz, and the loss of effective permeability is not ideal, the price is more expensive, complex processing and heat treatment;

Cobalt based amorphous alloy with high permeability, low Hc and low loss in a wide frequency range, close to the saturation magnetostriction coefficient of zero, is not sensitive to stress, but the Bs value is low, the price is expensive; Fe based amorphous alloy with high Bs value, the price is not high, but the effective permeability of low value.

The permeability of the nanocrystalline Hc alloy, amorphous alloy and Mo values close to the high slope of cobalt based amorphous, and saturation magnetic induction Bs and nickel permalloys, heat treatment process is simple, is a kind of ideal cheap high performance soft magnetic materials; nanocrystalline alloy is Bs value is lower than the Fe based amorphous alloy and silicon steel, but its in high magnetic induction under high frequency loss is far less than their corrosion resistance and magnetic stability and better. Compared with ferrite, nanocrystalline alloy has a working magnetic sense of 2 to 3 times higher than that of ferrite at lower than 50kHz, and the magnetic core volume can be more than one time.
