In the electrical design of civil construction engineering, the improper selection of the low voltage current transformer is more and more, the ammeter on the switchboard in the distribution room is too small, which is not conducive to the monitoring of the operation of the circuit. There are many reasons for the existence of this phenomenon. For example, the use of civil electrical equipment is complex and unstable, and the load calculation coefficient used in design is too large and the ratio of current transformer is not properly chosen. Although some factors are unavoidable, if the current transformer is reasonably chosen in the time of engineering design, it is possible to make it closer to reality. Forcing the design of power distribution system, the choice of current transformer problems often talk about their own ideas.

Design specification for the selection of current transformer

When the electrical design specification of civil buildings refers to the range of measuring instruments and the selection of current transformer, it is easy to meet the 70% of the scale of the meter when the power equipment circuit is run with the rated value. The current transformer selected according to this regulation is reasonable.

In this way, when the equipment is running normally, the instrument is directed at about 70% of the range (scale), which is easy to observe and work in high precision. But because of the civil construction, the composition and use of the distribution system are complex, the rated operating current of the distribution circuit is not easy to be accurate, so the current transformer is often chosen by the calculated current as the rated operating current in the engineering design. In this way, the primary current of the current transformer is greater than the overload protection setting of the circuit breaker in the residual current transformer and the end of the redistribution system. At this point, will the current transformer be burned without being protected by the circuit breaker? This is to analyze the usage and load capacity of the current transformer.
